How Positions Are Decided

Positions are awarded on total marks in the annual examination. Each board declares the top three positions separately for:

  • Matric: Science, Computer Science, and Arts groups
  • Intermediate: Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS, Commerce, and Humanities groups

Positions are announced separately for boys and girls. In case of a tie, the board’s rules decide the ranking — details are in the board’s official notification.

Rewards for Position Holders

  • Merit certificates from the board
  • Cash awards announced by the government
  • Scholarships for further studies in many cases
  • Recognition at the official ceremony and in the media
