How to Apply for Rechecking After Your Punjab Board Result

Rechecking Guide BISE Result

If your Matric or Intermediate result came back lower than expected, rechecking (also called re-verification or re-evaluation, depending on the board) is the formal process to have your paper’s total re-added and reviewed. This post walks through how it generally works across Punjab’s nine boards, and what to have ready before you apply.

What Rechecking Actually Checks

Rechecking is narrower than most students expect: examiners re-add the marks on your answer script and confirm every question was actually marked, catching addition errors or an unmarked page. It is not a full re-grading of your answers against the marking scheme — for that, some boards separately offer re-evaluation, where available, usually at a higher fee and with a longer wait. Check your board’s own terminology, since not every board draws this line the same way.

The General Process

  1. Apply within the window. Most Punjab boards open rechecking applications for roughly two to three weeks after the result is announced — some, like Multan, run a shorter 15-day window. Missing this window usually means you can’t apply for that session at all.
  2. Submit at the board office. Applications are typically submitted in person or through your school at the board’s office, along with your original result card or roll number and the prescribed fee per subject.
  3. Pay per subject. Fees are charged per subject you want rechecked, not as a flat fee for the whole result — so it’s worth being selective about which subjects genuinely seem off rather than requesting all of them.
  4. Wait for the revised result. Boards typically take a few weeks to process rechecking requests and issue a revised marksheet if your total changes.

Before You Apply

Have your original roll number, result card, and CNIC or B-Form ready. If you’re applying through your school, ask your school office to help — many schools handle rechecking applications in bulk for students who request it, which can be faster than applying individually.

Check the Exact Rules for Your Board

Exact fees, deadlines, and the number of subjects you can apply for vary by board and change from year to year, so treat the steps above as the general shape of the process, not board-specific instructions. Visit your board’s page for what we currently know, and its official website for the current year’s exact notification.
